Aloha,
We are at the middle of the year, and this week was a banner week with many of my clients hitting amazing goals.
- One client hit the Top Recruiting Level in her Company.
- Another moved to senior level and is ready for senior exec by August 1 and next level by end of 2020. (That’s 3 levels in one year!)
- Hitting $300,000 career volume by Conference was a highlight for another client PLUS being in the top dozen for recruiting.
- Another stepped up to $100,000 career volume level.
- And then an instant message from a past client who sent me a big GRAPHIC of her MILLION DOLLAR Team achievement!
What makes these clients successful? Simply, keeping their goals alive. One of my clients said to me, “I just want to succeed, so that’s why I do the work.” That’s truly coming from within and she’s done the work on her belief system.
There are many ways to keep your goals alive, but this week I want to share with you my three top takeaways from my coaching sessions with them.
#1 They Track their numbers.
This is a big one, because it’s a common denominator with all the winners above. In fact, when they check in with me every week they share their numbers. They are tracking their numbers EVERY DAY! (Yes, every day.) At any given moment they know where they are in achieving their goals.
And, by tracking their numbers daily, this one little trick, is the inspiration they need to take action. Taking the action for them is FOCUS! They focus in on hitting those specific numbers within the timeline they have set for themselves.
Question: If you were to set a goal right now, what numbers would you want to hit by the end of the month?
#2 They create a vision and write down their goals.
In my Journey to Leadership program, each one of my clients creates a “JOURNEY BOARD.” I ask them three questions –
- Why is this goal important?
- What distractions/obstacles might keep you from achieving it?
- How will you feel when you accomplish this goal?
This is how they create a vision of where they want to go. We work together on three timelines and set goals for each one, then they write down the action steps it will take to hit those goals. So, basically, they are writing down their goals in detail.
This practice helps them clarify what is important and gives them a reference point of what direction they want to go. It becomes a personal road map that helps them keep on track and make progress every day.

Question: Have you created a vision or journey board to hit your goals?
#3 They set a stretch goal on top of their regular goal.
Setting stretch goals is a strategy that keeps them moving forward. They’re not disappointed if they don’t hit the stretch goal because they reach their written goal. It’s a tactic one client worked on to hit her highest career volume. She planned to hit a SPECIFIC monthly sales goal and she stretched that so she wouldn’t miss her target.
Question: What would be a stretch goal for you?
Keeping your goals ALIVE every day using these three important lessons will give you the motivation and energy to get up and go to work every day. These are three important lessons that WORK if you truly want to succeed and achieve your goals.
