Hello, ,
I’m a day late this week because I’ve been traveling and eating, and learning! I’m actually on information overload having learned so many new ideas on using social media and new technology to grow a direct sales business. I’ll be sharing more of this in my upcoming ezines.
How many times have you signed up a new recruit and they disappear or even worse, they keep saying, “I’m going to place an order,” and you keep saying, “I’m here to help you get up and running.” And this goes on and on and on… you get it… right?
It’s frustrating at the least, and you become stressed because you know it’s your job to give this new recruit your best guidance to get her business up and running. You know that if they begin their business with success in the first 30 days, they will definitely have a business up and running.
That’s how our business model works in Direct Sales, it’s the first 30-60-90 days that makes the difference between someone who builds a business or someone who places an order once in a while. When you think about it every business is successful when you take action in the first 90 days.
Can I tell you a secret that helped me eliminate those people who wouldn’t take action?
It was simply making three rules in finding the right people who wanted to build a business for success rather than placing a few orders and feeling a lack of success. There are actually three parts to this secret rule…
The first secret was planting a specific recruiting seed. There are actually 8 places during your party to plant recruiting seeds, but the place where people are truly listening is at the beginning when you are introducing yourself. I intentionally planted a seed sharing why I joined, why I loved my business, and most of all how my business had changed my life. I call it
your short powerful intro story. I used three specific words. I said, “I love the fun, the freedom and the financial security my business brings to me and my family.” Those three words really resonated with many women who were looking for a business opportunity.
The second secret was taking these words out of my vocabulary - “You can join and get the product at a great discount.” Again, these are words. When you say these words, people think they can join for just that reason. I decided NOT to say these words because I wanted people who were looking for a business opportunity.
The third secret was very simple. Everyone who joined my team held two launch parties. Each new team member was welcomed with a personal phone call and we scheduled her launch party on my TEAM CALENDAR! I tracked every new team member’s launch parties to make sure they each had a very strong start to building a business.
These 3 secrets helped me grow my personal team with very strong business builders.
What about you?
- Are you intentionally planting recruiting seeds at your parties?
- Are you being intentional with the words you use?
- Are you focused on people who are looking for a business opportunity?
