I want to THANK you for being a long-time reader of this ezine! My mission is to provide you with value each week about running a profitable and successful Direct Sales Business.
This week a coaching client messaged me that she wanted to create a newsletter for her customers. We talked about her customer email list. Do you know the value of your customer email list? Amy Porterfield says email marketing is the best way to build relationships and reach customers.
Your email list is your OWN real estate in your direct sales business. It is like your brick and mortar place where people get to know the more authentic you.
One of the areas I find that many direct sellers lack is their focus on building new customers. It is essential you have a steady supply of new customers coming in every month. So, when you get a new customer and she begins to receive your newsletter every month, you and she are in touch and building that relationship.
I look at a monthly customer newsletter via email as part of your customer service system. Having a Facebook VIP group is another part of your customer service system. However, not everyone is on Facebook and not everyone gets your notifications in your group. When you send a monthly newsletter full of value, it deepens your relationship with your customers. It’s not about “buy my
stuff,” it’s about providing them with tips and news about your products, your life and your business, and this is what attracts them to buy from you and learn more about your opportunity.
Creating your Email list in Mailchimp. I prefer Mailchimp to many of the other email marketing services. It’s free up to 2,000 people. Here’s a video that explains how to get your email list into Mailchimp.
How to set up your newsletter! I have a formula that I work with my coaching clients. We create a template in Mailchimp with six specific points so every month it's simply changing out the content. This way you’re not re-inventing the wheel and it doesn’t take hours to create.
What to write in your newsletter! As I said you want to deepen your relationship with your customers by offering them value. To do that write your newsletter as if you are writing to your best friend. Make your content real and authentic. Some other tips are
- Be the solution your customers are looking for.
- Think about handy tips to share that will help them feel great.
- Think of the most frequently asked questions from guests at parties. Share one question in a newsletter each month.
- Share customer testimonials. How your products help them through a pain point.
- Share you tube videos that are fun and pertain to your message.
- Add the link to your FREE Facebook group or Instagram account.
- Add stories about your parties, your life as an entrepreneur, your own experiences working at home and running a direct sales business.
- Add specials for the month and give them reasons why these specials will save them money and solve a problem.
Be consistent!
This is the key to it all! If you’re not consistent and only send a newsletter every few months or once in a while, your customers won’t think you’re in business, or more importantly, serious about your business. And be consistent in adding NEW CUSTOMERS to your email list. Remember, I said this is your OWN real estate? It’s YOUR email list and it belongs to only you.
People can opt-out if they don’t want to receive your newsletter! Consistently offering them value each month, is the REAL VALUE of your email list because your customers will come back again and again and refer others to you because of the benefits to them you share every month.
