Hello ,
Do you remember when you joined Direct Sales? Were you aware of all the steps you needed to take to get started?
The first thing I did was watch a video on how to hold my first party! My sponsor was in Minnesota, so I had to wing this myself. I think I watched that video 10 times or more and still didn’t feel confident in showing the clothes. However, I love to follow a pattern – a system – a line of steps, and as I watched the video and laid out the steps, one at a time, I gained a little more confidence
in getting started.
It wasn’t easy being all alone. I wanted to ask my sponsor so many questions, but I didn’t want to be a bother to her and so I did my homework and figured it out by myself.
Well, the first party was a bomb! Didn’t sell one outfit! Afterwards I think I was thankful because I really hadn’t figured out how to write up an order at this stage.
However, I kept going. At that first showing, I said, “I’m supposed to ask you all if you want to book a party, anyone up for that?” and I actually got TWO Bookings! One at a friend’s home, and the other was for the Outdoor Circle Board meeting! At that board meeting, I felt a lot more confident. I lined up my clothes and was ready to do my presentation, but hadn’t worked with
the hostess at all (didn’t really know about hostess coaching) so the meeting started and she said, “When we take a break we’ll look at Gale’s clothes.” Oops no presentation. But, I got ONE sale!
This is how I began my Direct Sales Career! Kind of winging it! I would have LOVED to follow a system. This was all before social media, so there was no interaction in a Facebook group to ask questions from other team members.
I find many coaching clients know how to onboard a new team member, but they don’t really have a system or steps to follow through with them. A new client recently asked me, “I can bring them in, but I can’t keep them. They seem to disappear.”
So, I decided it was time to share with you my 5-step success system for onboarding new Biz Builders. In this system you’ll learn how to work SIDE-BY-SIDE with your new team member and a special method to follow through so they don’t have that same feeling I had.
