I remember when I first decided to look into coaching. It was when I lost my top seller on my team. It was such a silly thing. She got mad at the company about a situation, and I didn’t know how to handle it.
That was when I realized I needed to learn how to TALK to my team in THEIR language! I made the investment and hired my coach! She was fluent in the DISC method and taught me exactly how to inspire and spur on my team members using THEIR language! It was a turning point for me in taking my team to the top of my company.
From there I learned how to find the right words to help my team members feel like they were the most important people in our community. I learned how to use the right words and become a national speaker at our conferences and then went on to be a corporate trainer with companies internationally.
This was because I made an early decision on my journey to invest in my learning! From that one experience, I knew I wanted to learn how to make people feel good no matter what decision they made.
That’s what leading a team is all about! Learning how to serve them and help them feel like they belong to the right community. This is how you grow on your journey to leadership.
