-Let’s go on a Quest to Find Potential Team Members!

I believe March and April are two of the best months of the year to team build. March was the month I began a team building recruiting campaign that gave us the boost we needed to rise to the top of our company. Below is a quick training article how I took my team on a QUEST to find potential team members that proved to be the catalyst in bringing in over 73 new members in March/April/May.

This was a tactic that I used myself that proved to be extremely successful. I had set a goal to have the most team members in the company on my own personal team. I had studied my comp. plan and realized the highest percentage income stream came from my personal team members because I made two commissions on them. One as my personal recruit, plus another as part of my team. Read the article below how I taught this tactic to my team.

Let’s go on a quest to find potential prospects.

I asked my team to go on a quest with me to find prospects at their parties! First, we got very clear with who would be an ideal prospect. This was a fun team building exercise at our team meeting. I split them into small groups to come up with demographics, psychographics and character traits of people who they wanted to join our team!

Once they were very clear about their prospect we focused on ONE area at the party.

That one area was the PARTY INTRODUCTION! I call it your opening talk!

At your in-home parties, it sets the tone for the whole party. At your Facebook or online parties, you do it LIVE on video and it does the same thing. Your opening talk gets people thinking about how your products will help them, and it also gets them thinking about your business opportunity.

Your opening talk begins with a great big SMILE! You show how excited you are about your fabulous products, and your smile also shows them how excited you are about your business opportunity. Guests are ready to learn and shop and have a memorable experience! You’ve set the stage for a $1,000 or more party!

Here’s my opening “ Welcome everyone, tonight I’m going to show you how to save money in your closet creating outfits. You’re going to have a fun shopping experience that is different from going to the mall. But, first let me tell you a little a bit about myself. My name is Gale Bates and I’ve been sharing fashions for the past 7 years. I started because I need income to pay for three kids who were all in private colleges at once. I soon found out that this business paid for more than my kids college tuition and have grown a very exciting team of people who love fashion, fellowship and financial security earning part time or full-time income themselves.”

I went on to thank the hostess, but then I threw in this ONE line that helped me find my potential prospects.

“Tonight I’d like to hear from each of you to tell me something special about your own fashion style. Do you wear mostly casual, or mostly corporate (if you work), or a bit of both?”

This simple question uncovered so much information about each guest! I immediately knew who I was going to give out my recruiting packet and have a follow up recruiting conversation. I taught my team to use this question and listen with two ears.

With the first ear you’re listening to a guest tell you if she’s looking for comfort, or someone likes short jackets & skirts, another might say, she’s a pants girl.

But with the other ear I encouraged them to listen very carefully for hints or what I call “red flags.” When a woman describes her clothing style she generally embellishes her story by saying, “I’m a pants girl, because I sell real estate and I’m in and out of the car every day.” The red flag is a prospect.

Another guest might say, “I wear very casual clothes because I’m home every day with the kids.” Red flag – a stay at home mom prospect needs extra income, another pre-qualifier for your call to meet for coffee,

Then, I hear a guest who says, “I wear suits, but not for long, I hate my job and I’m ready for a change.” Red flag prospect right in front of your nose!

So, at the opening of your party, you hear from each guest (for me about her clothing style) and immediately, you find 3 potential prospects to follow-up with after the party.

My team began to use this one simple question at every party and this focus gave them the confidence to ask people to learn more about their business opportunity because they were pre-qualifying their prospects.
