I was traveling home from Maui this weekend, and I spotted a woman in a beautiful Cabi outfit. We were standing patiently - waiting in those long lines at the airport! It can be so boring walking round and round those lanes of people.
I struck up a conversation and said, “I love your Cabi outfit!” She produced a great big smile and said, “I love Cabi! I have very big shows every season for my consultant!” I kept the conversation going and found out she was from Seattle and visiting friends on Maui. We kept conversing and I loved it when she said, “I get fantastic hostess rewards at 50% off at my Cabi shows and I’m really looking forward to my next Cabi
show in March.”
As I went through that line, people’s heads were down, focused on their phones! When I started that conversation with my new friend, we had moment in time to enjoy each other face to face! The more I work with my AMAZING coaching clients, the more I find their success happens when they have more CONVERSATIONS with customers, hostesses and prospects who join them on their teams.
One client LOVES CONNECTING with conversation at networking Events! She recently found that striking up the conversation with people coming into her booth and learning their stories, converted people into bookings and future business. She said she made some amazing connections from spending time chatting and getting to know people at these events and people responded with warmth and interest. All of which led to new customers and hostesses in
her business.
Another client found the answer to CONVERSING IN CONVERSATION with her hostess! Her hostess seemed to go AWOL! Oh my, how many times that happen to many of us. Right? Well, it turned out this hostess wasn’t checking her phone texts. Once my client connected with a real conversation on the phone, the party went forward as scheduled and it was a great success.
I also have a client who LOVES connecting with conversation over coffee and sharing her business opportunity! I’ve been encouraging to have more coffee chats and she’s now got the bug and she’s learning that coffee chat conversations bring rich and rewarding results. Some people join, but others simply stay as hostesses or customers, but it’s scheduling these conversations that is bringing her better results in recruiting.
What makes these three clients successful is they a CONTINUING THE CONVERSATION to find out more! So many times, we start a conversation and the person says, no, not interested so we STOP! However, if we just continued the conversation about THEM! Asking more inquiring questions, finding other layers about people’s lives, we would find that maybe the NO turns around to not now, but maybe later and then as we continue conversing it becomes A
DEFINITE later!
