In my coaching conversations this week the discussion was about working with hostesses.
- One client said, she’d been added to three Facebook parties, without her permission. Yikes!
- Another said, her hostess at her own Facebook party, just added over 200 people to the event. Yikes again!
My tip for you is to really work with your hostess on WHO to invite and HOW to invite. This is part of my training in the CALENDAR CLUB system and in the DIRECT SALES Planner system. This should happen in the first connection you make with the hostess after she’s said she’d book. I call this the 24-48 hour connection - if you let it go out a week, she gets cold feet - I suggest a phone call for the first connect will confirm
the party and will hold on the date you choose. On this connect I recommend you review WHAT’S IN IT FOR HER.
- review the wish list
- help her with the guest list on ‘who’ to invite, and
- If it’s an in-home party, you want 8-10 confirmed guests.
- If it’s a facebook party, you want no more than 25 confirmed
guests.
- We review a list of questions for the hostess to help with the guest list.
- Then review HOW to invite them.
And the best advice or recommendation you can share with a hostess is to do a “personal” invite with her guests. Even in today’s world a personal phone call will make all the difference. I get many instant messages on Facebook
inviting me to parties, but I don’t attend because usually I don’t know the sender very well.
Bottom line here is you want the “right” people at the party who will love the products and want to buy the products. So, if I’m hosting a natural skin care party, I’ll invite my friends I know who are definitely into natural. So, if I make a phone call it would go like this…
“Hi Suzanne, I am hosting a natural skin care party and I thought of you because you have beautiful skin and I know you love natural all the way. It’s a company that I’ve been buying their products for quite a while and I love how they feel and make my skin look and feel healthy. I’m limiting my show to 10 people and I’d love to reserve a spot for you. It’s on Friday at 7pm and we’re going to have lots of fun sampling the products with some
lite pupu’s and wine. Can I count you in?”
When your voice shares this script on the phone (even if you’re leaving a message), it’s personal! People know me, they can hear the excitement in my voice. They know they are going to have fun, learn something and have a memorable experience, so they don’t want to miss out.
Work with your team on their HOSTESS
COACHING this summer. As you know when you have brilliant friendships with hostesses you have successful parties.
