This week the world was focused on the amazing KILAUEA VOLCANO on my island. This volcano has been erupting for over 20 years, but this week we had a NEW eruption in a vent that caused a lot of earth shifting! This is one of my favorite old photos of my grandson experimenting in pre-school, on
how volcanoes erupt! Let me assure you I’m safe, because I live 100 miles away. All we have to worry about are earthquakes and we had quite a few small ones with a big 6.9 that gave us a moment’s panic.
I had a fantastic call this week with my L.E.A.P. Mastermind group. It’s one of the MOST IMPORTANT trainings I do all year. We do a whole planning session on the three critical JJA months of
summer!
Summer time is when people’s lives change! Schedules change! Kids don’t have homework and they have a different attitude! You are picking up from tennis camps, bible study and arranging play dates and picnics ALL around your business. And don’t forget summer vacations. That’s why it’s so important to PLAN your summer so you don’t lose momentum in your business.
If you’re saying to yourself, “I think I’ll take the summer off,” or “Maybe I’ll do a slow-down this summer,” then be prepared when September rolls around to start ALL OVER again! And that’s not easy!
Here are three ways to summer-proof your business
#1 Create your intentions for summer! What do
you want to happen over the next 3 months? Do you want to increase your team numbers? Maybe you want to put your focus on your own personal recruiting? or perhaps your intention is to help some team members have high summer party sales. Or who on your team wants to become a leader by convention?
#2 Lay out your THREE months calendar for your business. It’s so important to know exactly how much time
you have each week to work on your business around your summer life.
- Maybe you’ve been holding parties every Tuesday and Thursday, but in summer, you want to work on Wednesdays and Saturday afternoons.
- Perhaps you want to frontload your business each month and do six parties in the first two weeks, so you have more time in the last two weeks with the family.
- What part of each month June, July and August will you allot to recruiting appointments, team business, growing new customers.
#3 Block off time in the next few weeks to work on your summer planning. Think about
- What system’s you’d like to implement over summer
- What would you like to multiply in your
business over summer.
- How you will stay consistent every week so your business doesn’t lose momentum.
