I’m a little late today because I’ve been pushing this ezine to the last on the list every day and finally got it done.  That’s because it’s been a wild week and yesterday I had the grand-kids because it was their first day of spring break.  So, in between, private coaching clients, and one group session, I introduced them to my favorite childhood recipe, “Hedgehog” because I couldn’t believe I found the main ingredient – milk arrowroot biscuits (cookies) in the supermarket right here in Waimea.  They were actually made in Fiji, the world trade is certainly changing. 

Hedgehog is a great recipe to do with the kids because there is no baking, but lots of crushing biscuits and pressing by hand into the pan.  They loved it.  Then we played a game of SORRY and I had them water the back garden, while I had my coaching calls.  I tell you this story because it’s an interesting ride in the life of an entrepreneur.  I’m sure you have a similar story, and btw if you want the hedgehog recipe, reply to this email.  

Now, on to this week’s topic -  MOMENTUM

Have you ever felt that RUSH of adrenalin from riding on a wave of excitement? It’s that feeling that all the stars are aligned, you’re watching a big shift happening and then you recognize it as momentum.

It was in the month of March that built momentum on my team recruiting a high number of new team members.  I remember it because we went from the team recruiting 5 to 10 each month to a big jump to 62 people in ONE month!  And it was THAT momentum that took us to the million dollar sales level for that year.

March is one of those MOMENTUM months in the year that can a huge impact on your business.  I believe if you work on specific targets in the month of March in your business you will look back at the end of the year and point to the WORK or GOALS you set in March that made the difference in achieving something amazing!

I got so excited this week working with my coaching clients as each of them have created their MISSION IN MARCH to achieve something amazing! And they are all on board with

• Setting a specific goal
• Making a plan of 4-week action steps to make it happen
• Committing to making it happen
• Taking action every week to reach their goal
• Staying accountable to me, with a weekly check-in.

We discussed obstacles that might come up to stop them from achieving their goal.  External obstacles like outside influences that might get in their way, like

•  a weather situation that might lead to lots of cancellations

• or, other people needs (like family members ) who need immediate attention

And, of course, those inner obstacles came up. Such as negative thinking,  self doubt and even self sabotage.   And good old procrastination that plays within all of us.  I had them make a list of these obstacles, so they will recognize them and will be clear on how to handle them if they arise.
