The Big Takeaway from this book!
In this book, Dr. Tom Barrett, talks about why dreams are so important. He says, “You need a dream big STRONG enough to
- get you out of bed in the morning
- keep you up at night
- get you to ignore fatigue
- get you to push through fear!”
He has a whole chapter on how to manage fear like a pro and shares seven reasons on how to move out of your comfort zone to be a success.
I love his chapter on “Golf Course” economics and his realities on the only five things you can do with money – pay taxes, pay debt, spend it, invest it, or give it away! He shows you how to use this process to get what you want in life and the simple
genius of network marketing that makes so much sense. He truly wants you to SEE the gift you have and seize it, to be successful.
However, my BIGGEST TAKEAWAY from this
book is a whole chapter on using 15 minutes of your time. He calls it 15 Minutes to Financial Freedom.
He begins by asking the question, “How can you have a
great year? Tom says,
”To have a great year, you need to have a great quarter and how do you
have a great quarter?
To have a great quarter, you need to have a great month and how do you
have a great month?
The next answer is you need to have a great week, and how do you have
a great week?
You need to have a great day! So, are you wondering how you can have a great day in your business?"
This is the ultimate question
and is the pivotal point on which everything else turns.
The answer to this question is the key that will put everything else in motion. It is the
starting point that determines the end point. Knowing what makes a great day possible lets you know what it takes to have a great week, month, quarter and year. In fact, when you can answer this question and take action… your life, business and team will never be the same.
Successful people take the question one step further, How “do” I have a great day in my business? And the answer is 4 simple
words.
Focus for 15 minutes.
These 15 minutes of focus are simultaneously the most important and for many the least desirable part of the week, but if you understand this brief discomfort for 15 minutes, it will change your business and your future by setting in motion a series of events that inevitably results in success.”
I love this book. What Tom is talking about is focusing on making those dreaded follow-up phone calls for 15 minutes every day!
