June is here and I've
been working with many leaders on how to engage their teams to stay
consistent through the months of June, July and August. We began with a time blocking exercise to
help each team member schedule business around summer camps, activities and
vacations. This is because, as
entrepreneurs, you must keep your business doors open. The great benefit in running
your business working summer flex hours keeps the sales and bookings coming in
and more importantly, the income consistent.
Once the leaders
established the summer schedules, they now have a team engaged to stay on
track with the team goals and action plans. It's a matter of leading with precision during a time when it's so
important to stay consistent.
- Many
leaders have initiated a re-start revolution, helping team members re-fresh
their business with summer launch parties.
- They are
offering incentives to achieve the 3-month fast start rewards.
- Many
leaders have sparked excitement in the team creating brainstorming sessions
around summer theme parties.
- Others
are gathering the troops and kicking off summer boot camp training
sessions.
Leaders who
prioritize their year around the seasonal selling times of the year are
focused on a growth plan that keeps the team involved and connected in running
a consistent business.
And, so this brings
me to the question, are you willing to give your direct sales business three
years? I believe you have to give
yourself at least a 3-year growth plan? When
you have a consistent 3-year growth plan
and lead with precision during the busiest times of the year and the slower,
quieter times of the year it keeps leaders engaged and you will grow a
winning team.
It's consistency that
is the game changer if you want to build a million dollar team and a
six-figure income business. And really
when you think about it a 3-year consistent growth plan is not a very long
time.
How often do you fee
frustrated because your business isn't growing as quickly as you'd like and
things get really hard especially over the quieter summer months? And you think
it's never going to work. I was there
myself. There were times when I thought
I should quit! But I kept at it,
working through some very slow summer months and doing my best to keep my
mindset focused especially when I had team members who said, "I'm not going to
work in the month of July."
There were so many
times when I was growing my million dollar team, I wished it would grow
faster. I'd recruit what I thought was
a hot business builder who didn't do a thing, and I'm not even going to mention
all those cancelled parties, but you just have to make a commitment to stick at
it.
It's that consistency
that is so important, it's about keeping going yourself and keeping the
team engaged during the busy times and the less-busy times and doing it
consistently all year long.
So, look at these
summer months as your re-start revolution to stay consistent with a 3-year
growth plan. Decide what you want to be
consistent about and stick to it! Make consistency your game changer and commit
to your own 3-year growth plan. Remember,
- It takes time to grow relationships
- It tames time to keep the team on track with
goals
- It takes time to lead new recruits through the
first 90 days of business.
I find people quit
too soon because they don't understand the cycles of business throughout the
year. Understanding how to engage
your team through these cycles and lead with precision will keep you on track
with your growth plan.
Throw consistency
into this plan and know that others before you have built a million dollar team
and a six-figure income business in this three-year amount of time. If they can do it, so can you!
