The new year is only
36 days away and it's that time of the year to stay the course in fulfilling
your year-end goals.
You'll notice this
picture taken in Sheen Falls Manor in Kenmare, Ireland. It is a very beautiful estate, and I
was the #1 leader hosting all the top leaders in our company from around the
world in a cocktail party in my suite!
We had just spent 3 days in London staying at the elegant Claridges
hotel and had a spectacular dinner at the House of Lords with a Lord! These trips were incredible, and each of the leaders who achieved this goal knew about staying the course in the month of December.
Hitting the number
one position meant I had to play full out and stay the course during the
busiest time of the year because every point and dollar counted to winning
right up until midnight on December 31st. Staying the course also meant keeping the
team focused and motivated during this crazy busy festive time of the year.
It can be very
daunting and disappointing when you hear from a team member who says, "It's
December 10, and I'm done for the year!"
And then there are
the commitments! All the
responsibilities, the obligations, the duties, the promises you've made to
customers and hostesses. There are so
many, it's mind-blowing!
Today is Thanksgiving! Tomorrow is Black Friday! The social commitments are piling up. The
kids holiday events, the partner's office event, the church and family celebrations are hitting us hard in the next
36 days!
Do you have a plan to
stay the course to achieve your year-end goals?
Are you strong enough
to withstand all the distractions, diversions, interruptions and holiday
madness?
Well, take a deep breath
and let me share with you a few ways to help you and your team stay
motivated to push through these rough spots in the next 36 days to achieve your
year-end goals.
Remind the team to
send holiday greetings with a value add.
Successful entrepreneurs are masters at keeping their name and business
on people's minds during this busy time of year. Send a heartfelt holiday greeting and include
something of value, like free shipping on orders, or a special holiday gift
certificate.
I always sent a "Holiday
Letter" at the end of November. Email

want a copy of this handout.
Track your numbers! Review your team reports daily during this
time. If you're close to hitting your
goals on December 31st, track your numbers during the whole month of
December. You wouldn't want to miss your
goal by a mere $10, $20 or even $100 order.
Be visible in supporting
your team - Don't miss sending your weekly newsletter. Be the "constant" support during this busy
time. Show them you're available and you care about their success. It's this time of year more than ever they
may need help in placing orders, or
assistance with hostess credits. Most of
all let them know you're available to help them with 3-way interviews with
prime prospects who are ready to start a business before December 31
st,
and take advantage of the tax year. I
believe there are
10 reasons why December is one of the best months of the year
to recruit. Email

Keep the team aware
of Holiday Specials and Company incentives.
Year-end specials and incentives are so important to the success of
team members. Holiday specials will help
them hit certain targets to be incentive winners. Be alert to team members who are close to
earning trip incentives and special year-end awards at your upcoming
conference.
Keep the spirit alive
with a special Holiday team meeting. Celebrate
your team with a holiday team meeting.
Make it a festive occasion, play the pass the gift game, and get the
whole team having fun together.
Recognize everyone with a special gift from you. One rose for each attendee and a short
recognition statement about each team member will make this a memorable event.
Focus on your to-do
list! Be vigilant with your activity
and set yourself deadlines to accomplish certain tasks. Use your lists to keep everything on track.
Living by a list will help you be more productive. It will help you prioritize your tasks and
your time. Remind yourself what you're
doing and why you're doing it. Checking
your to-do list every day keeps you motivated and excited to hit your year-end
goals.
Remember your "why." It's so important at this time of year to
keep in mind why you're in this business.
What is your purpose and who are you here to serve and what is your
ultimate goal?
I hope you take into
consideration these few reminders. Feed
your mind with positive thoughts, and persevere until that 36th day
at midnight on December 31st and you celebrate your results.
Find the strength to pursue your year-end goal regardless of
any obstacles or criticism, and simply "stay the course!"
