Now, let’s fill it in using these three steps:
STEP 1: COMMITTED TIME
Start by allocating your Committed Time. These are your non-negotiables—the tasks and commitments that must get done. Think work hours, time with family or children, or volunteer responsibilities.
In your grid, mark these blocks with a bold “C.” This ensures that the core pillars of your life and business are protected, creating a foundation for a well-rounded week.
STEP 2: LIFESTYLE TIME
Next, add in the activities that bring you joy and fulfillment. Label these blocks with an “L.” These might include exercise, family time, self-care, or hobbies.
Unlike committed time,
lifestyle time is flexible—you can adjust it as needed. But it’s still essential. These blocks help you maintain a healthy work-life balance and support your overall well-being.
(For me, self-care looks like Chi-Gong, long walks, and coffee with a friend.)
STEP 3: STRUCTURED TIME
Finally, look at the blank spaces left in your grid. These are your Structured Time
Blocks—the space you have to move your goals and projects forward. Mark these blocks with an “S.” This is where you plan and execute the work that grows your business—especially revenue-generating activities.
