It made me realize: friendship is such a bonus in business, but it’s also a strategy.
In my Entrepreneurs Who Work From Home video series, I’m making incredible new friends - fellow dreamers, doers, and creators — who are building businesses from their own home offices. Every conversation has not only helped me grow my YouTube channel, but it’s also helped me feel more connected.
Because let’s face it — working from home can get lonely. There are days when the walls echo and the
inbox feels quiet. That’s when having a few trusted business besties makes all the difference — someone to brainstorm with, swap ideas, or just share what’s really going on behind the scenes.
I am involved with numerous “biz besties” groups and have one friend where we’ve been masterminding together for 10 years!! But here’s the thing: friendship doesn’t just happen. It starts when you take the first step. This week, ask
yourself — how are you creating connection?
- Are you showing up in online communities or local meetups?
- Are you posting and engaging with others’ content — not just for visibility, but for connection?
- Have you reached out for a “get to know you” coffee chat lately?
- Do
you ever check in on customers or old clients just to see how they’re doing (no selling involved)?
- Have you texted a new follower to say hello?
When I moved to a city of 3 million where I didn’t know a soul, I made myself go out — twice a week — to meet new people. For an introvert like me, that was huge. But over time, those new friendships became lifelines — connections that
made me feel seen, supported, and understood.
If you’ve been feeling a little isolated, craving connection, or missing that sense of sisterhood — this is your gentle reminder: you don’t have to do this alone.
