What I’m reading: My goal is to finish one book a week—no matter how big. This week’s pick? A whopping 1,097 pages! I like to break it down into a daily goal of # pages so this week’s goal is 187 pages!!
I just finished The
Paris Secret by Australian historical fiction author Natasha Lester. What captivated me was how she weaved together the story of a fictional heroine with a real-life one—Catherine Dior, sister of Christian Dior. The book shifts across two timelines and dives into how people endured some of history’s darkest chapters. Beautifully written—and now I’m following the author on Substack.
What I’m listening to: I’m still loving my all-time favorite podcast: The Rest is History.
It’s so interesting and witty. I’m listening to the life of Peter the Great! And it’s definitely not boring.
What I’m enjoying: I recently started following actor Steve Guttenberg (yes, from Three Men and a Baby!) on instagram. His posts are full of warmth and heart. In one recent share, he said: “There are moments in your life when all you really need is someone to show up, put their arm around you and say, ‘Hey, I’m here.” A gentle reminder that none of us are truly alone.
What I’m
baking: Stanley Tucci posted a chocolate chip cookie recipe—not his, but his neighbor’s—and claimed they were the best cookies he’s ever tasted. Naturally, I had to try them. And... he wasn’t wrong. I’ve made them almost every week since for my grandsons. Let me know if you want the recipe—I’m happy to share!
