At first, I thought, “If others can do this, so can I.” The learning curve was steep. And I could’ve easily talked myself out of it. Instead, I gave myself a good pep talk and asked: What makes this worth it? That’s when I made myself a “joy list”—a reminder of what truly fuels me. Here’s what keeps me going:
1. I love making connections. Interviewing entrepreneurs across the globe has shown me how alike we really are. We share the same passion, drive, and willingness to have meaningful conversations. These connections bring joy and energy to my work.
2. I’ve learned the power of showing up. Consistency is something I teach in my coaching business,
and it’s a value I live by. Each week, I schedule the full process and I commit to showing up. No excuses.
3. I lead with a servant’s heart. When you know the value of what you offer, and you’re invested in your clients’ success. That energy creates trust, loyalty, and impact.
4. I know when to ask for help. Hiring
support isn't always easy. But when you find the right people, you free up your time to focus on what really matters: the work that moves the needle.
5. I genuinely love what I do. Enjoying your work is the heartbeat of entrepreneurship. When you wake up excited, when your home office feels like a space of purpose, when you're choosing what to work on (not being told), that’s when you know you're on the right
path.
Sure, there are days when things don’t go as planned or I need to shift directions. But I love my interview with LeeAnn Webster who shares with us , “you can’t quite on a hard day” and I’m reminded: this is a journey—and it’s a joyful one.
