WHAT DO YOU SAY WITHOUT FEELING SALESY OR PUSHY?
You simply, “Make a suggestion.”
Yes, it’s that simple. And you can say this simple sentence in many ways…
If I’m at a networking event and I meet someone who’s an introvert and has trouble introducing herself. ( I often have this conversation with many networkers.) I make a suggestion and say,
“You should think about my course on “How to Create a Jaw-Dropping, Client Getting message.” It will help you build your confidence in introducing yourself. You’ll make so many new friends and acquaintances to build deeper relationships.
If I’m having a
conversation with a client and she tells me how she’s feeling disorganized and burnt out, I make a “suggestion.”
“You might be interested in my 2024 Planner, it’s a perfect way to keep you organized every day, every week and every month. And you’ll love my video tutorials and
printable available in my Planner hub.”
If I’m having a conversation with an ideal client, who says, “I’m so overwhelmed and I can’t seem to get anything done.” I make a “suggestion.”
“You might want to think about joining my Accountability Lab where we meet in co-working groups to get things done. It’s so inspiring to hear
how much you learn from other entrepreneurs like ourselves.”

All I’ve done is “make a suggestion.” And, now it’s up to me to “further” the relationships and follow-up and check in to have more
conversations and get to really know her.
- Some people are ready to buy your products and services right away.
- Some people need to think about it for a while.
- Some people take a really long time and may not buy at
all.
Think about how often you’re having a conversation with someone and you think of the perfect thing that help them. You’re just making a suggestion, and you don’t feel pushy or salesy at all!
