In my 2023 PLANNER there is a SPACE to answer the question, “What Matters Most this week?” It’s a question I ask myself every Sunday when I do my weekly planning. When I
ponder this question it helps me review my to-do list and the projects I have lined up on my monthly Goals list.
WHAT MATTERS MOST THIS WEEK?
This question helps me set my priorities for the week! Setting three priorities every week helps me get things done in a timely manner.
There are three approaches to setting priorities.
#1 There are people who procrastinate and the best way for them to set priorities is to use Brian Tracey’s advice to “Eat that Frog.” That means they tackle the most difficult tasks first so they know when these are done, it is smooth sailing.
#2 There are people who thrive on accomplishing their top 3 priorities but need to enjoy victories along the way. They understand it’s important to hit these 3 big tasks first and give themselves lovely rewards for a job well done.
#3 Then there are people who enjoy using the “Covey Quadrant” to set their priorities. They make choices on their priorities, like “Important and Urgent” or “Important and Not Urgent.” Or “Not Important but Urgent” or “Not Important and Not Urgent.”
In the end, setting priorities is an exercise that brings results when you focus on the question every
week.....
