One of my BIG GOALS for 2023 is to grow
my email list. It’s one of the THREE GROWTH GOALS I work with my coaching clients. We work on …
REVENUE GOALS
LEAD GENERATION & SALES FUNNEL GOALS
SYSTEMS & PRODUCTIVITY GOALS
We are bombarded with social media tips, solutions and courses on growing our social media platforms, we forget there’s a simpler (less techie) way to connect with your customers.
That’s sending them a simple email that provides
a ton of value that lets people get to know the REAL you.
You may be posting all over twitter, Instagram and Pinterest, and I don't get to know you if I'm not your friend or following you, but when you receive this email in your inbox every week, there’s
a connection! And that connection deepens when I receive an email back from many of you with a special message that resonated with what I wrote about.
I like to call my emails a “Letter to my friends.” Here are three steps to get started with an email list!
HOW DO I START?
Choose an email
provider. I recommend MAILCHIMP if you’ve never sent an email to your list. It’s simple, it’s free with under 2,000 subscribers. Another good one is FLODESK which has a few more features. Even if you don’t have a website you can create a sign-up page with a link you can share.
There are many email providers, choose the right one for your skills.
HOW DO I GET PEOPLE ON MY LIST?
The best way
to get people on your list is to simply “ask” them in multiple ways.
- Ask with posts on social media.
- Ask at Networking events
- Ask at Vendor Events with a clipboard sign-up sheet
- Add a pop-up box to your website
- Create a FREEBIE or Lead Magnet. Your FREEBIE must give VALUE. This can be a cheat sheet, a play list, a recipe or a list that gives your perfect customer a result. My main Lead Magnet is my 90-day Goal Playbook. If you follow this method over 90-days, you have a road map to achieve a goal in 90-days.
- You can make these as pdf’s, workbooks, or printables all on Canva. Make them with a
strong solution to your customers problem, they will want to download immediately.
WHAT SHOULD I WRITE ABOUT?
Think you’re writing to a friend and write about your products, your services, how you run your business, and what's happening in your life. Think of the friend, the perfect customer you want to have a conversation with and share great stories that will be of value to her.
